84 billion tenge has been invested in the development of tourism in Almaty. Akim of the city Bakytzhan Sagintayev said this at a press conference at the Central Communications Service. In the second quarter of this year, the number of foreign tourists increased by 42%, the correspondent of  the business information center Kapital.kz reports  with reference to the RSK Almaty.

According to the akim, 3 hotels with 628 rooms have been built this year. They invested 54.3 billion tenge. In addition, improvement and creation of a safe infrastructure for mountain tourism is underway.

In the mountains of Almaty, a helipad is under construction in the Tuyuk-su tract, 15 mountain rescue huts have been installed on remote junctions of mountain routes with satellite communications and SOS panic buttons.
