President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko takes part in the Republican Pedagogical Council, which takes place in Minsk on August 23-24, BelTA informs.
It is expected that in his speech at the plenary session of the pedagogical forum, Alexander Lukashenko will highlight the most important issues of the development of the educational sphere in Belarus.
About a thousand teachers, heads of educational institutions, republican and local government bodies, as well as representatives of public associations and the branch trade union take part in the Republican Pedagogical Council. The focus is on the strategic issues of the development of the national education system until 2030.
The day before, the work of thematic sections and round tables was organized, at which specialists considered modern approaches to improving the quality of preschool education, general secondary education, the development of vocational education in modern socio-economic conditions, the main directions for higher education, additional education. In addition, they talked about the development of inclusive education, current aspects of social, educational, ideological work in modern conditions, the development of the postgraduate education system, and the improvement of teacher training.
The Republican Pedagogical Council continues its work on August 24 in the format of a plenary session. An exhibition of effective pedagogical experience, creative achievements of teachers, novelties of educational and educational-methodical literature, educational resources and technologies in the field of education is presented to the attention of the participants.
As BelTA reported earlier with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Education, the planned changes in the industry to be submitted to the forum are laid down in the draft Education Code adopted in the first reading and the draft Concept for the Development of the Education System of the Republic of Belarus until 2030. These documents were developed taking into account the decisions of the VI All-Belarusian People’s Assembly, instructions of the head of state and government.
The main directions for the development of the education sector were determined on August 24, 2017 at a plenary meeting of the first Republican Pedagogical Council with the participation of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. In his speech, the head of state outlined the main principles for the development of national education, focusing on state support, social justice and equal access to education. Then the forum participants discussed and adopted Conceptual approaches to the development of the education system for the short-term (until 2020) and long-term (until 2030) periods.
