In his speech, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed that the Chamber of Entrepreneurs has become a reliable partner of the Government and makes a great contribution to the sustainable development of our country. Five years ago, the share of small and medium-sized businesses in the gross domestic product was only 24%. Now this figure has reached 32%, the industry employs 3.5 million Kazakhstanis.

“The epidemic, which has spread throughout the world, has hampered the development of entrepreneurship in our country since last year. In difficult times, the state provided comprehensive support to the business sector. Within the framework of various state programs, 3 packages of anti-crisis measures were implemented for a total amount of 6.3 trillion tenge. This made it possible to “turn the tide” – to restore economic activity and entrepreneurial initiative. We did not allow a sharp rise in unemployment and massive bankruptcies of enterprises. Following the results of 8 months, the economy of our country grew by 3%. The state will continue to support business,” the President noted.
