Law enforcement agencies have launched a pre-trial investigation under Article 292 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan into the explosion in the Aktau cafe. Among the main versions of what happened are a short circuit and an explosion of a gas cylinder, Sanzhar Adilov, the head of the Interior Ministry’s investigative department, told reporters on the sidelines of the government hour in the majilis.

“On the same night, from November 7 to 8, the investigators of the Inquiry Directorate of the Police Department of the Mangistau Region registered a pre-trial investigation under Article 292 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the fact of a fire safety violation,” Adilov said.

The cause of the explosion, according to him, will be determined by a fire examination, in addition, investigators appointed a comprehensive forensic construction examination, which will give the area of ​​damage. As Adilov noted, during the investigation, three gas cylinders were seized, and several versions of what happened are being worked out.
