The government has adjusted the list of socially significant goods, the prices of which are regulated by the state. This is provided for by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 713 of December 10, 2021, BelTA learned from the government’s press service.

Earlier, the Council of Ministers adopted Resolution No. 100 of February 23, 2021 “On temporary measures to stabilize prices for socially important essential goods.” The new Resolution No. 713 corrects the list of such goods, the prices of which are regulated by the state. Strict price regulation from December 15, 2021 will apply to 29 items of socially significant goods, as well as 50 items of medicines. NWT’s list includes flour, barley, bread, beef, pork, chicken, milk, kefir, sour cream, cottage cheese, some fruits and vegetables, sugar and other goods.

From December 15, 2021, the monthly change in prices for socially important essential goods cannot exceed 0.9% in December 2021 – February 2022, in March – December 2022 – 0.3% to the price prevailing on the last day of the previous months. In the absence of goods on this date – on the date of the previous sale or to the price of goods of the same variety and packaging. Such limits were formed taking into account the average growth in prices for a socially significant group of goods in these months of previous years and are due to the limitation of consumer price growth at the level of 6% at the end of 2022.

Prices for socially important essential goods that were not produced (imported) into Belarus until January 1, 2022, are set by legal entities and individual entrepreneurs engaged in their production (import) and sale to the domestic market, in agreement with the Commission on State Regulation pricing under the Council of Ministers.
