Public discussion of the draft of the updated Constitution will begin next week. The head of the Presidential Administration Igor Sergeenko told reporters today following a meeting with the President on changes to the Constitution, BelTA has learned.

According to the head of the Presidential Administration, during the meeting, all sections of the draft Constitution were once again considered in detail. “As a result, a decision was made – next week we will start a nationwide discussion. Accordingly, the draft Constitution will appear in the media, on the portal of our center (National Center for Legal Information. – BelTA note),” Igor Sergeenko said.

A specific time frame for public discussion has not yet been set aside: everything depends on the activity of citizens. “We expect that our citizens will actively respond, submit their proposals, which will be subsequently taken into account and finalized during the next stage – based on the results of a nationwide discussion at various dialogue platforms, meetings in collectives, just a discussion by citizens, we will go to a specific text of the Constitution, the decree of the head of state on the appointment of the day of the referendum, “- said the head of the Administration.
