Over the past three years, the Gomel region has increased the export of goods to China by 20 times. This information was announced today by Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Andrey Konyushko during a round table on multidisciplinary cooperation between the Gomel region and the Chinese province of Hebei, which was held online, BelTA has learned.

Andrey Konyushko emphasized that the Gomel region highly appreciates friendship with China. “In the Year of the Regions of Belarus and China, declared by the governments of our countries, we see how cooperation is expanding. Economic and interregional ties are actively developing. Thanks to modern technologies, even in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are in constant contact, find new friends, establish interregional ties , we sign business agreements between companies for the supply of products and in the field of logistics, we hold presentations and negotiations,” the deputy chairman said.

In his opinion, bilateral turnover in the field of foreign trade in goods and services has the potential for further growth. “Over the past three years, the export of goods from the Gomel region to China has grown 20 times. The share of China in the total trade turnover of our region is growing every year,” Andrei Konyushko stated. Thus, the export of Gomel enterprises to China in January-November last year exceeded $100 million.
