Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov met with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao, Kazinform reports with reference to the press service of the Prime Minister.

Topical issues of bilateral cooperation in such areas as trade and economic, transport and logistics, agro-industrial complex, development of the “green economy”, digitalisation, rational use of transboundary rivers and others were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to the prospects for increasing the supply of environmentally friendly agricultural products to China from Kazakhstan and building up cross-border cooperation. The Prime Minister emphasized the need to restore supply chains, modernize and ensure the uninterrupted operation of all road and rail checkpoints on the Kazakh-Chinese border, as well as the resumption of direct flights between Kazakhstan and China.
