The state is not against white mining, but taxes on mining will also be increased, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at an expanded government meeting , Total.kz reports.

“The role of digital mining cannot be hushed up. We see that the socio-economic effect of the production of cryptocurrencies is minimal. Mass jobs are not being created, there are no products at all. At the same time, this sphere consumes electricity as several regions,” the head of state said.

According to him, individual unscrupulous miners use tariffs that are lower than those for the population, do not pay taxes and duties on imported equipment, and, most importantly, use the country’s resources to the maximum, monetize in other jurisdictions.

The head of state instructed the Financial Monitoring Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan to investigate this situation in detail, as well as identify all mining farms, check tax and customs issues.
