On March 13, a briefing was held by the chairman of the Central Election Commission of Turkmenistan, Gulmyrat Muradov, dedicated to the results of early presidential elections, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan  reports.

The official recalled that 2,726 national observers and 75 international and foreign observers from the CIS, the SCO, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Organization of Turkic States, as well as from a number of countries observed the course of the elections.

3,362,052 people took part in the voting at 2,577 polling stations, the turnout was 97.17%.

In order to achieve such a result, it is necessary that 1,304 people voted on average during the working time (12 hours) at each polling station, including rural ones. This is about 108 people per hour, or two per minute throughout the day.

According to the correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan”, who visited two Ashgabat polling stations at noon, no such activity was observed. The number of those who voted, judging by the signatures on the lists, was about 10%, although according to official data from the CEC, almost 72% of voters had already voted by 1 pm, that is, in the first six hours, the voting speed should have been 2.7 people per minute.
