The units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces at about 11:00 again resorted to aggressive actions, trying to use firearms of various calibers to ensure advancement towards the eastern border of Artsakh in the territory under the responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping forces, the Artsakh Defense Ministry reports.

“The units of the Defense Army took adequate measures to stop the advance of the enemy. Steps are being taken to find ways to resolve the situation together with the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent,” the message says.

Escalation of tension in Artsakh

On March 24, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces invaded the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping troops in Artsakh, taking control of the village of Parukh in the Askeran region and adjacent positions, trying to advance in the region of the eastern border of Artsakh. On the night of March 25, Azerbaijani units opened fire on the positions of the Defense Army, using, among other things, a strike UAV. On the enemy side, at least 5 servicemen were killed, on the Armenian side – three dead and 15 wounded.
