On April 22, the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan announced the seizure of a large batch of heroin at the Iranian-Azerbaijan border. Employees of the Astara customs post, while checking a truck with a load of apples, on route from Iran to Russia in transit through Azerbaijan, found 122.48 kg of heroin, packaged in 240 parcels.

The drugs were found by service dogs in several hiding places in the truck. The fact is under investigation.
