The organisations of the Belarus construction complex have supplied to Azerbaijan products worth more than $3.5 million, Minister of Architecture and Construction of Belarus Ruslan Parkhamovich said at a meeting with the delegation of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan headed by Chairman Anar Guliyev, Report.az reported, citing BelTA.

The parties discussed the possibilities of strengthening bilateral cooperation, and also identified the most promising areas for the implementation of joint projects. “The high level of interaction between Belarus and Azerbaijan, regular contacts between representatives of state bodies, as well as the painstaking work of the business community allow us to look with optimism towards further strengthening mutually beneficial relations. I am sure that this visit will serve the cause of long-term cooperation for the prosperity of our peoples,” said Ruslan Parkhamovich, welcoming foreign colleagues.

The minister noted that already by the results of the first quarter of this year, there is significant positive dynamics in relations between the countries. “Organizations of the construction complex of Belarus supplied to Azerbaijan products worth more than $3.5 million, which is 222.5 percent compared to the same period in 2020,” Ruslan Parkhamovich emphasized.

He noted that one of the most popular Belarusian goods supplied to Azerbaijan is crystal. The local population is in demand both for kits for everyday use and for exclusive products. The Belarusian glass factory “Neman” takes into account the needs of the population of each country to which the products are supplied, in particular, a type of national glasses – armudu – is made especially for the residents of Azerbaijan. Also, in addition to crystal products, the basis of the export of organizations of the construction industry of Belarus to Azerbaijan in January-March 2021 was made up of reinforced concrete and metal structures, equipment and spare parts.

In turn, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan Anar Guliyev also expressed confidence in the continuation of mutually beneficial cooperation between the construction complexes of the two countries and the implementation of new projects.

The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of the development of schemes for integrated territorial development, master plans of urban and rural settlements of a modern type in Azerbaijan, as well as mutual supplies of products of the building materials industry.
