The British Company BP is completing preparations for drilling the first of three exploration wells in the shallow waters of Absheron under the SWAP project, Turan reported, citing BP Azerbaijan report.

According to the company, in August 2020, a document was published on the assessment of the environmental and socio-economic impact on the drilling of the first well under the SWAP project.

After public comment, the project was approved by the government in January 2021. It was decided to start drilling this year, the company said.
