Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the need to increase economic growth rates in the second half of the year, TOTAL.KZ reported.

“The main goal is to accelerate the pace of the economy and improve the well-being of the population. Despite the pandemic and restrictive measures, the country’s economy grew by 2.2% in six months. This makes me happy. Last year, the gross domestic product fell 2.6% due to the pandemic. We must restore it as soon as possible. The revival of the global economy, coupled with the anti-crisis measures taken and the reduction of quarantine restrictions, contributed to the recovery of business activity. Our task is to increase the rate of economic growth in the second half of the year,” Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said during the opening of an expanded government meeting.
