The number of employees in the Azerbaijani economy declined by 4.500 as of July 1 this year, or 0.3 percent, to 1,690.600 people, compared to the same period a year ago, the State Statistics Committee said.

Of these, 908.100 persons worked in the state sector of the economy, and 782.500 in the non-state sector

Thee average monthly nominal salary of employees in the country’s economy in January-June of this year rose by 0.6 percent as compared to the same period last year  to 724.4 manats.

Higher average monthly nominal wages were typical for the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, professional, scientific and technical activities, information and communications, as well as for transport and warehouse facilities.
