A package of measures in response to Western sanctions is ready – Golovchenko-BELTA

The package of measures in response to Western sanctions is ready. This was stated by Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko in an interview with the programme “Question number one” on the TV channel “Belarus 1”, BelTA reported.

“We still hope that hot heads will cool down and weigh, among other things, the interests of their business in Belarus. If we analyze all the statements of the President of the country over the past decades at all international platforms, the leitmotif has always sounded: we want peace and tranquillity in the region, We stand for the belt of good neighbourliness, we want to build equal partnerships. We did everything for this. But if we are talking about damage to our companies, we have every right to compensate for this damage. A set of measures in response to the sanctions is ready, “said Roman Golovchenko.

The Prime Minister drew attention to the fact that a large number of foreign enterprises operate in Belarus, including those from those countries that pursue a particularly unfriendly policy. “They may lose our market. Even if it is not so large, at the same time, the volume of investment imports from the EU is billions a year. I would like Western politicians to think about the fate of businesses,” he urged.

“Of course, we will have to move away from Western goods, from Western technologies. We know what to replace, we know suppliers, we are ready to reorient ourselves. The technology gap is now minimal. We are ready to switch, including to Asian technologies, which have been moving forward with leaps and bounds over the past few decades. According to preliminary estimates, China alone can replace 90% of European and American technologies. Plus, Russian technologies, which are actively developing,” noted Roman Golovchenko.
