Canadian company Centerra Gold Inc. is ready to leave the Kumtor gold mine to Kyrgyzstan, but asks Bishkek to give up its share in the company.

From 28 to 30 September, the first round of negotiations between the delegation of Kyrgyzstan and the Canadian company Centerra Gold Inc. was held in Geneva, Switzerland. for the Kumtor gold deposit. The Kyrgyz side stated that it was “satisfied” with the results of the meeting, but the details of the talks were not disclosed.

In his comments to Azattyk, Akylbek Zhaparov stated that Kyrgyzstan intends to independently develop the Kumtor field.
