Baku is surprised and considers unacceptable attempts by Yerevan to use the situation on the border with Armenia for political purposes, News.ru reported.
Work is underway to normalize the situation. This was stated by the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.
Earlier, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported on an attempt by the Azerbaijani armed forces to carry out certain work “to clarify the borders” in the Syunik region of Armenia.

According to News.ru, the situation was discussed on Wednesday, May 12, by the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and the Russian Federation.
On Thursday, May 13, the Armenian Ministry of Defense reported that the Azerbaijani armed forces tried to advance their posts in the areas of the cities of Vardenis and Sisian in southern Armenia.
The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan stated that, according to a trilateral statement signed on November 10, 2020, Azerbaijani border guards are deployed at the positions of their country in the regions of Lachin and Kelbajar regions bordering Armenia, which have difficult mountainous terrain and climatic conditions, News.ru reported.
