Family trial of Khasan Yodgorov to be held in Dushanbe, demanding 400,000 somoni compensation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs for torture-ASIAPLUSTJ.INFO

Today, in the building of the capital’s court Ismoili Somoni, it is planned to consider the case of the family of Hassan Yodgorov. They demand 400,000 somoni from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan as compensation for torture by the police in 2017. Allegedly, three law enforcement officers tortured and beat Khasan Yodgorov, a resident of the city of Tursunzade, to confess to a crime he had not committed.

As Gulchekhra Kholmatova, head of the Legal Assistance Group of the Civil Society Coalition against Torture and Impunity in Tajikistan, told Asia-Plus, Yodgorov’s family demands that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan compensate moral and material damage.

Answering the question: “Why exactly 400 thousand somoni?”, Kholmatova said that “the family itself demands this money, since Hasan Yodgorov’s health has deteriorated due to torture in the police.”

Recall that in November 2017, a waiter in one of the restaurants in the city center Dmitry Karimov was killed in Tursunzade. His body was found in a rented apartment in the 2nd microdistrict.
