Five people died under the rubble during illegal gold mining in the Navoi region, the Podrobno.uz correspondent reports, citing data from the Ministry of Emergencies.
The tragic incident took place on December 23, 2021 at 23:30 in the Lolazor area in the Kanimekh district. Five people were here illegally mining gold in a makeshift mine, suddenly there was a landslide that covered the whole group.
The rescue operation involved 5 vehicles and 63 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. As a result, the rescuers found the corpses of five people under the rubble; as it turned out, they were all visitors from the Bukhara region.
