Former President Almazbek Atambaev was transferred to colony No. 27 in the village of Moldovanovka, Chui region. This was reported in the Penitentiary Service.

Previously, Atambaev was held in colony No. 47 in Bishkek. The INS decided to dismantle this colony.

On March 30, a member of the Jogorku Kenesh and the son of the former president, Seidbek Atambaev, announced the possible transfer of his father to another colony. Then the parliamentarian added that the life of Almazbek Atambayev was in danger.

“His life is in danger. Almazbek Atambaev is not one of those who can lay hands on himself. But if he suddenly hits his head or dies choking on food, I will consider this an attempt on his life by the authorities,” the deputy stressed.

The deputy also called on his colleagues to create a commission to consider the forcible bringing of the former president to court.
