The evacuation of a ten-story building on Lortkipanidze Street in the Saburtala district of Tbilisi was announced after the collapse of a part of the slope in the construction zone.

The incident happened on Friday evening. As a result of the incident, no one was injured, but communications were damaged, a gas pipe burst.

Approximately 90 families were forced to leave their homes indefinitely. The city authorities provided their transfer to hotels.

Late in the evening, the Tbilisi City Hall issued a statement in which the construction started nearby was called “the alleged cause of the incident.”

As noted, experts have already begun to study the slope, after which an expert opinion will be prepared. Further decisions will be made on the basis of this document.
