Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov has met with the Ambassador of Indonesia to Azerbaijan Hildi Hamid, Report informs, citing the ministry.

The minister congratulated the ambassador on his new appointment and expressed confidence that his activities would expand bilateral cooperation.

According to the minister, Azerbaijan highly appreciates Indonesia’s position on Armenia’s aggressive policy and support for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. The Minister of Economy underlined Azerbaijan’s interest in expanding relations with Indonesia and the importance of strengthening the legal framework for the development of cooperation. He noted that trade is one of the main areas of economic cooperation between the two countries. In January-May this year, Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with Indonesia increased by 64% amounted to $ 27 million. However, there are more opportunities to increase mutual trade.

The ambassador shared his views on the development of economic and trade relations, noting that Indonesian companies are interested in cooperation in transport and textiles, as well as projects for the reconstruction of the liberated territories.
