“Khududgaztaminot” revealed over 2.8 thousand objects illegally built near gas pipelines. One of these buildings was a shopping center in Denau, where there was an explosion of domestic gas, Podrobno.uz correspondent reports.
It is prohibited to erect any buildings, enclose and block off gas pipelines, impede the access of service personnel, build and place sources of fire on land plots that fall into the security zones of gas networks. The security zone ranges from two to ten meters, depending on the pressure in the gas pipeline.
If we recall the shopping center in Denau, it was built on the gas pipeline itself and access to underground utilities was blocked in order to check their serviceability. As a result, stray currents formed under the building led to external corrosion of metal pipes and the appearance of flaws in the gas pipeline. This, in turn, caused a gas leak and an explosion.
