The criminal case against the deputy Adakhan Madumarov was reclassified from the article “Treason” to “Abuse of power”. Deputy Dastan Bekeshev announced this on March 3 .

According to him, at first the parliamentary commission decided not to remove immunity from Madumarov. However, after that, an addition came to the Prosecutor General’s submission on the re-qualification of the criminal case.

“At first they charged him with treason, and now they have abused power. Because of this, we are confused. The commission did not make a decision. I asked the parliament itself to make a decision, but we say that this should be done by a commission, and on the basis of this, the parliament can adopt a resolution,” he said.

As a result, the deputies decided to extend the work of the deputy commission until March 10, so that it would again consider the proposal of the prosecutor general to give consent to criminalize Madumarov.
