The trial of a terrorist who participated in the Tashkent terrorist attacks in 1999 has ended in Tashkent. He was jailed for 20 years, a Podrobno.uz correspondent reports, citing the press service of the Tashkent city courts.

Recall that on February 16, 1999, a series of terrorist attacks took place in Tashkent, killing 13 people and injuring over a hundred. In January 1999, on the orders of the leaders of the Islamic Movement of Turkestan, the defendant arrived in Tashkent, where he attacked the homes of wealthy citizens, transported stolen money and valuables to Afghanistan.

He also took part in terrorist acts in the capital of Uzbekistan on February 16 and March 30, 1999. After that, he fought in the ranks of international terrorist organizations in foreign countries from 1999 to 2006. In September 2021, he was caught and taken to Tashkent by the State Security Service.
