Parliament of Belarus: EU silent about attempted coup -NEWS.RU

(Read the full article on News.ru)

European parliamentarians are silent about the attempted coup in Belarus,  News.ru cited Vladimir Andreichenko, chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the republic, as saying.

He said this in Minsk at a meeting with a delegation from Moldova, headed by the chairman of its parliament, Zinaida Greceanîi, the news agency reported.

Unfortunately, no one understood these issues deeply after the August events. Although we sent letters to all the speakers of the parliaments of the countries that are part of the European Union. But, unfortunately, we only got answers from one or two. They only consider these issues at parliamentary assemblies, and the fact that it was a real attempt to carry out a coup d’etat in Belarus is hushed up about this, Andreichenko said, according to BelTA.

Andreichenko stressed that Belarus is a peaceful and friendly state.

“And we want to develop relationships with everyone on the basis of friendship,” he said.

Earlier it was reported that the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko was accused of involvement in “crimes against humanity.” The statement on behalf of the four Belarusians was received by the Prosecutor General’s Office in the city of Karlsruhe (FRG). Four lawyers from Berlin submitted the application, one of them – Benedict Lux – is a deputy from the Green Party. Lawyers claim that they have at their disposal documents confirming the use of torture by the authorities of Belarus, we are talking about more than 100 such cases, News.ru said.
