The Belarusian embassy in London was attacked on the evening of December 19. The details of the incident were reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, BelTA informs.

“At first, a group of people damaged the facade of the building of the foreign establishment, and then the Belarusian diplomats who arrived at the scene were physically attacked. One of them suffered serious bodily injuries and required urgent medical attention. , – said in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the ministry, after the arrival of law enforcement agencies, the radicals attempted to escape from the scene. Nevertheless, some of the attackers were detained by the London diplomatic police. It has been established that the persons are allegedly members of the radical émigré group “Nadzeya”.

“This attempt at reprisals, committed against persons who, through their duty, protect the interests of Belarusian citizens and work to improve interstate relations, once again eloquently demonstrates the true face and methods of action of fanatics, whom a number of countries of the collective West are persistently trying to pass off as peaceful protesters,” – emphasized in the ministry.

The Charge d’Affaires of Great Britain has been summoned to the Foreign Ministry of Belarus, to whom a decisive protest has been lodged with the demand to conduct a thorough investigation of the incident, bring the perpetrators to justice, as well as inform the Belarusian side about the procedural actions and their results.
