The Baikonyr District Court of Nur-Sultan announced the verdict in the criminal case of ex-vice-ministers of energy Bakytzhan Dzhaksaliev and Gani Sadibekov.

“The court sentenced: Bakytzhan Dzhaksaliev and Gani Sadibekov were found not guilty of committing a criminal offense and acquitted,” Judge Kemenger Imashev announced the verdict.

The trial of Gani Sadibekov and Bakytzhan Dzhaksaliev began in December 2019. In July 2020, the case was sent to the prosecutor to eliminate violations. They were not identified, and the process resumed.

Gani Sadibekov was accused of conspiring with the head of the contracting organization Aimak and K LLP to steal budget funds on an especially large scale allocated to clean up Lake Karasu in the Shchuchinsko-Borovsk resort area.
