The presidential press service reported on October 5 that the family of Umutbek Altynbek uulu, who died during the October riots in 2020, received an apartment.

The head of the country Sadyr Japarov handed the keys to a new apartment in Bishkek to Umutbek’s father Altynbek Dzhumatayev and sister Inayat Dzhenalieva.

In September 2021, it became known that the family of the deceased Altynbek uulu should have been allocated an apartment in October-November 2020. However, as explained by the press secretary of the President Erbol Sultanbaev, this issue has been delayed “due to the irresponsible attitude of certain officials of the capital’s mayor’s office.”

Later, Mayor of Bishkek Aibek Dzhunushaliev met with the family of Altynbek uulu . He said that the family will receive an apartment on Ankara Street in the Tunguch microdistrict.

Umutbek Altynbek uulu died during mass protests in Bishkek on October 5. He received fatal injuries from fragments of a smoke grenade. 19-year-old Altynbek uulu was buried in Batken on October 8, 2020.
