Turkmenistan plans to privatise five state-owned enterprises under the Turkmengaz holding through competitive bidding.

The country also plans to sell the state-owned Turkmenhimiya holding.

These measures are aimed at “a gradual transition to market relations, the introduction of effective methods of management, as well as denationalisation of facilities,” the country’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said and instructed the government to analyse the feasibility of the state outlets proposed for the privatization.
