22 military aircraft and 24 helicopters of the Afghan Air Force were forcibly landed in Termez. One Afghan attack aircraft and a MiG-29 of the Uzbekistan Air Force collided, the Podrobno.uz correspondent reports, citing data from the Prosecutor General’s Office.

“On August 14-15, 22 military aircraft and 24 military helicopters of the Afghan Air Force, which violated the airspace of Uzbekistan, were forcibly landed at the international airport of Termez. There were 585 servicemen on board,” the Prosecutor General’s Office noted.

In addition, on August 15, three Afghan Embraer-314 attack aircraft requested permission to land at the Khanabad airport in Karshi. They received the command to land at the Termez airport. To escort the planes into the air, two MIG-29 planes were taken off.

However, while escorting Embraer-314 and the accompanying MiG-29 fighter of the Uzbek Air Force collided with each other, the planes crashed in the Sherabad district of the Surkhandarya region. The pilots of both aircraft ejected.

On the same day, 158 citizens and armed servicemen of Afghanistan illegally crossed the border of Uzbekistan in the Termez region.
