Participants of the International Crimean Platform reaffirmed their support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity, condemned the temporary occupation of Crimea, the militarization of the peninsula, human rights violations and freedom of navigation in the region, and called on the Russian Federation to participate constructively in the platform.

This is stated in a joint declaration on the results of the summit, published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ukrinform reports.

“Participants in the International Crimean Platform do not recognize and continue to condemn the temporary occupation and illegal annexation of Crimea, which is a direct challenge to international security with threatening consequences for international law and order, which protects the territorial integrity, unity and sovereignty of all states.”

The summit reaffirmed its commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty, political independence, unity and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, including its territorial waters.

The Declaration condemns the violations and abuses and systemic wrongful restrictions on human rights and fundamental freedoms experienced by Crimean residents, the ongoing militarization of Crimea, which undermines security and stability throughout the Black Sea region, and obstacles to the rights and freedoms of navigation.

The Declaration established the International Crimean Platform as a consultative and coordinating format to peacefully end the Russian Federation’s temporary occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and to restore Ukraine’s control over the territory in full compliance with international law.

The participants also decided to continue the policy of non-recognition of the illegal annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation and to consider further political, diplomatic and restrictive measures against Russia, if provided by the legal system of each participant of the Platform and in accordance with appropriate procedures.

In addition, it is noted that the Platform members will meet the new challenges and hybrid threats posed by the ongoing militarization of Crimea and support joint efforts to strengthen resilience to these threats in the context of growing threats to security and stability in the Black Sea region.

At the same time, Russia was called upon to fulfill its obligations as an occupying power in accordance with international humanitarian law and other applicable international law, and to immediately cease all human rights violations and abuses against Crimean residents, to ensure full and unhindered access to Crimea for established regional and international human rights monitoring mechanisms, in particular the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine and the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, as well as for human rights NGOs.

The summit participants decided to unite efforts to protect the rights and freedoms of the civilian population living in the occupied Crimea and to achieve the immediate and unconditional release of Ukrainian citizens illegally detained or convicted by Russia for political reasons and its state agents in the occupied Crimea. and in Russia.

In addition, the declaration stipulates that participants will consider the possibility of supporting economic, infrastructural and environmental projects that would contribute to the further development of the regions of Ukraine bordering the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula.

The summit reaffirmed its determination to maintain pressure on Russia to end the temporary occupation of Crimea and called on the Russian Federation to engage constructively in the activities of the International Crimean Platform.
