Zaporizhia Mayor Volodymyr Buryak has announced his resignation.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he announced this today after the regular session of the Zaporozhye City Council.

According to Buryak, he has already submitted a corresponding application to the secretariat of the City Council.

The reason for his resignation, the mayor called the recommendations of doctors. According to him, he has already been hospitalized three times with heart problems and was advised to resign.

“However, I am not leaving politics, I am staying with my political force (Vladimir Buryak’s political party” Unity “- UNIAN) and with Zaporizhia,” Buryak said in his speech.

After that, the mayor closed the regular session.

At the moment, the deputies are going to an extraordinary session, where they will secretly vote for Buryak’s resignation.
