This is stated in the address of the President of Uzbekistan to the participants of the High-Level International Conference “Regional Cooperation of the Countries of Central Asia in the Framework of the Joint Action Plan for the Implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy”.
“Obviously, the further successful implementation of the counter-terrorism strategy in the region requires strengthening the mechanisms for constant monitoring and critical assessment of the implementation of the Joint Action Plan, coordination of interaction between the countries of Central Asia. In this regard, we consider it a long overdue need to open an office of the UN Counter-Terrorism Office in our region,” noted President of Uzbekistan.
