Azerbaijan increased electricity production by 8.1 percent year-on-year to 2.407 bln kilowatt-hours (kW/h) in January, the State Statistics Committee said.

Thermal power plants increased electricity production by 9 percent year-on-year to 2.258 billion kWh, hydropower plants – by 0.4 percent to 75.3 million kWh, solar plants – by 1.6 percent to 3.2 million kWh. Wind power plants generated 6.7 million kWh of electricity, 25.6 percent less than in January 2021.

In 2021, the country increased electricity production by 0.5 percent to 26 bln kWh.
