Azerbaijan increased electricity production by 7.7 percent year-on-year to 4.607 bln kilowatt-hours (kWh) in January-February, the State Statistics Committee said.

Thermal power plants increased electricity production by 7.9 percent year-on-year to 4.301 billion kWh, hydropower plants – by 8.4 percent to 146 million kWh, solar plants – by 41.5 percent to 7.5 million kWh. Wind power plants generated 9.4 million kWh of electricity, 35.2 percent less than in January-February 2021.

In 2021, the country increased electricity production by 0.5 percent to 26 bln kWh.
