Batken: Shooting and trenches are being dug at the border again, the leaders of the border regions held a meeting-KLOOP.KG

The plenipotentiary representative of the president in Batken Abdikarim Alimbayev summoned the heads of the regional power structures for a meeting on August 12. At a closed meeting, the shots fired in the Internatsional village of the Leilek region on August 11 from Tajikistan are discussed. This was reported by the press service of the regional administration.

“A shot fired at the window of the hospital in the village of Internationale and excavations at the Katta-Tuz site, which are being carried out by Tajik border guards, will be discussed,” the regional administration said in a statement.

It is also said that a meeting will be held between the leaders of the Sughd region of Tajikistan and the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan.

On August 11, at about 15:10 in the afternoon, a shot was fired from the direction of Tajikistan in the village of Internatsional, Leilek district, Batken region. The bullet hit the window of the second floor of the regional hospital

According to the SS GKNB, a 5.45 mm cartridge from an AK-74 assault rifle was found at the scene. There are no casualties.

After the incident, the heads of the border services of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan held talks over the phone, the Tajik side promised that it would inspect the firearms of the border guards.
