The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Yevgeny Zinichev fell off a cliff, saving a man at an interdepartmental exercise in Norilsk. Writes about this “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”. The ministerI arrived to the Emergencies Ministry’s exercises to protect the Arctic zone from emergencies and, together with the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexander Uss, checked the construction progress of a new fire station in Norilsk.
As noted by the Telegram channel Mash, witnesses of the incident were members of the RT crew. The minister stood on the ledge along with the cameraman, who was choosing a shooting point for a film about the exercise, slipped and fell into the water. Trying to save him, Zinichev threw himself into the water, crashing against the ledge. Both were hospitalized by helicopter, but died before reaching the hospital.
