The issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan were discussed today at a meeting in Ashgabat between Presidents Emomali Rahmon and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the press service of the Tajik leader said.

As previously reported, the President of Tajikistan arrived in Turkmenistan on a state visit yesterday.

At the beginning of the meeting, Emomali Rahmon thanked Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the invitation to visit Turkmenistan, stating that Tajikistan stands for the comprehensive development of friendly relations with our country.

It was emphasized that over the years of independence, cooperation between the two countries has reached the level of strategic partnership.

During the talks, the leaders discussed a wide range of cooperation issues, including the regional and international agenda.

At the same time, they expressed confidence that mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries will continue to actively develop for the benefit of the fraternal peoples.
