The Russian authorities must not deviate from the principle of indexing pensions faster than inflation, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on social issues. He promised that the government will return to these proposals in the near future, given the situation with macroeconomic indicators.
“At the congress of the United Russia party, he said that the rate of indexation of pensions should be higher than actual inflation. Let me remind you that since 2019 we have strictly adhered to this rule. Today, given the significant rise in inflation, it would be wrong to deviate from this principle”, the head of state explained.
Putin promised that the government will return to these proposals in the near future, given the situation with macroeconomic indicators.
