Moscow categorically rejects US accusations of using gas supplies as a tool for manipulation, the Foreign Ministry said.

In recent weeks, there has been a record rise in world energy prices. Experts attribute this to the low level of filling of European storage facilities, as well as to the high demand for LNG in Asia. Washington states that Russia is trying to influence the cost of raw materials for the sake of launching Nord Stream 2.

“It is shameless that they continue to repeat such accusations like a played record. We have never exerted pressure by supplying our energy resources. We are in no way interested in using them as political pressure,” said Deputy Minister Sergei Ryabkov.
