The government is allocating 175 million hryvnias to strengthen the protection of the Ukrainian border in connection with the difficult operational situation on the Ukrainian-Belarusian section of the state border.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal said this at a regular government meeting on Wednesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Understanding the difficult situation on the Belarusian-Polish border, we continue to strengthen our borders. It cannot be ruled out that the migration destabilization project may be extended to the Ukrainian-Belarusian border. We have to be ready for any scenario, so we are allocating 175 million hryvnias to strengthen security measures on the Ukrainian border, ”Shmygal said.

He condemned the situation. “In our opinion, the use of migrants as a mechanism of hybrid aggression is the height of audacity and inhumanity. Such a practice should have no place in the civilized world, ”the head of government stressed.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Cabinet of Ministers at a regular meeting on Wednesday planned to consider a draft document on the allocation of funds from the reserve fund of the state budget to implement priority (urgent) measures to eliminate the consequences of social emergencies related to the operational situation in the Ukrainian-Belarusian area state border.

According to the explanatory note to the relevant draft order of the Cabinet of Ministers, according to the State Border Guard Service, the situation on the Ukrainian-Belarusian section of the state border within Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions has become much more complicated.
