Over six months of 2021, Turkey purchased 14.64 billion cubic meters of Russian gas, surpassing the previous six-month import record set in 2017 (14.436 billion cubic meters), TURAN reported, citing Gazprom data.

In October 2020, Turkey surpassed Italy in terms of Russian gas imports, taking the second position after Germany. Since then, this proportion has been maintained month after month.

In June 2021, Gazprom supplied Turkey with 2.46 billion cubic meters of gas, which is not inferior to the values ​​for the previous months of 2021 both in winter and in spring.

At the same time, taking into account the fact that the Turkish Stream gas pipeline (the capacity of the Turkish line is 42 million cubic meters per day) from June 22 to 28 stopped for preventive maintenance, it can be concluded that in June Russian export pipelines pumped gas to Turkey at their maximum bandwidth.

In May, the Blue Stream gas pipeline (47 million cubic meters per day) was stopped for repairs. The renovation was planned from May 12 to May 29, but it was completed earlier, and gas started flowing on May 24.

This completes the planned repair campaign on Russian gas pipelines to Turkey for 2021. The Turkish side had plans to carry out repairs on the onshore section of the Turkish line of the Turkish Stream in July, but Botas cancelled this repair.
