Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part on August 9 in a conference within the framework of the UN Security Council on the topic “Strengthening Maritime Security: the Need for International Cooperation.” This was announced in the Kremlin.

The event itself is being held at the initiative of Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, who presides over the UN Security Council in August.
Earlier it became known that on June 23 the British destroyer Defender invaded the territorial waters of Russia at Cape Fiolent in the Black Sea. The Russian coast guard was forced to open warning fire. The Su-24M aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces made “bombing” near the destroyer.
The British ship was forced to leave Russian territorial waters. In London, information about the use of weapons by Russian border guards was denied and stated that the destroyer was in the territorial waters of Ukraine.
