Currently, construction work on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is at its final stage and will be completed in a matter of weeks. Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergei Nechaev spoke about this in an interview with Izvestia.
According to the ambassador, Russia expectsthat the timing of the completion of the gas pipeline will not be affected by the German-American agreement.
“Construction work is at the final stage, only a few weeks are left until their complete completion”, the ambassador said.
At the same time, Nechaev stressed that the United States and Germany did not conclude agreements directly on Nord Stream 2. This is a joint statement that is not a legally binding document. Also, it does not bear any obligations for the Russian Federation, which did not take part in the preparation of the document.
