Uzbekistan and Pakistan's leaders have committed to pursuing the construction of a Trans-Afghan railway line that would link Central Asia’s most populous nation with Pakistani seaports, a project that is designed to attract significant cargo flows.

Kazakhstan has revised its economic growth forecast to 3.1 percent in 2021 from 2.8 percent amid improved macroeconomic indicators in the first quarter of this year, Economy Minister Aset Irgaliyev said.

Uzbekistan’s Energy Ministry and Siemens Energy AG agreed to cooperate in the energy sector and implement joint projects, including on hydrogen and wind energy, the Central Asian country’s energy ministry said.

Uzbekistan lists several major state-owned enterprises for initial public offering in 2021-2023, as a part of its plan to reform its economy.
