Revenues from the operations of oil trunk pipelines, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, amounted to 633.3 million manats, while income from the operations of the main gas pipelines rose by 49 percent year-on-year to 873.1 million manats.

Today, no more than 5,000 people live in the town. Lack of work is the main problem. The coal mines are abandoned. The local population hopes to preserve the town and villages. Not by the reanimation of industry, but with tourism.
